Fees & Payments
We aim to keep our fee structure clear, transparent, and easy for families to understand. All fees support program planning, materials, staffing, and safe, meaningful outdoor learning experiences.
🌲 Weekly Outdoor Learning Program
Tuition
• $200 per month per child (1 four hour day session per week)
• Sibling rate: $190 per month
📄 Learning Documentation & Progress Reports
• Families receive semester report card summaries, aligned with the BC curriculum and based on observed learning, participation, and growth
• Report card summaries are included in the program fee.
• Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are available upon request at an additional cost of $80 for students who require additional learning support
One-Time Fees
• Annual Registration Fee: $100 per child (non-refundable)
• Exploration Kit Fee: $125 per child (one-time, non-refundable)
The exploration kit includes shared outdoor learning tools used throughout the year, such as a 5-gallon bucket (used as a seat and storage), binoculars, compass, whistle, magnifying tools, journaling supplies, and additional hands-on learning materials.
🔍 Occasional Additional Costs
From time to time, the Weekly Outdoor Learning Program may include optional enrichment experiences that go beyond regular programming, such as:
• Guest speakers or workshops
• Shared food experiences or seasonal celebrations
• Indoor space use during extreme conditions
• Special materials for hands-on projects
When applicable, these costs are typically under $5 per child, and families will always be notified in advance.
We strive to keep all additional costs minimal and accessible.
🧭 After-School Wilderness Survival Program
Tuition
• $250 total for a 6-session series
• Each session runs approximately 2.5 hours
• Fee includes instruction, materials, program planning, and a basic survival kit
• No separate registration fee is required for this program
Optional Equipment Add-Ons
Some larger or specialized items (such as flint and steel, compasses, or personal survival tools) may be available for purchase at an additional cost if families choose to have their child keep these items.
All optional purchases will be clearly communicated in advance.
🎓 Educational Funding
We accept funding from distributed learning programs, online schools, and approved educational agencies for both the Weekly Outdoor Learning Program and the Wilderness Survival Program.
Please contact us in advance if documentation or invoicing is required to support your funding provider.
💳 Payment Information
• Fees for the Weekly Outdoor Learning Program are due by the 5th of each month
• Payment is accepted via e-transfer, cash, or cheque
• E-transfers can be sent to: joysofteaching7@gmail.com
🔄 Withdrawals, Missed Days & Refunds
• Fees are required regardless of attendance
• A one-month written notice is required to withdraw from the Weekly Outdoor Learning Program
• No refunds are provided for absences due to illness, travel, personal scheduling conflicts, or inclement weather
Refunds or credits are only issued in the event of program cancellation due to short staffing.
Families will always be notified by text or email if programs are adjusted or cancelled for safety reasons.

Families will receive the full Family Handbook (including detailed policies, procedures, and expectations) upon registration.
